stuporwoman is a dance operetta that takes a nostalgic, outspoken and satirical look at images and ideas of motherhood. Tracing multiple stories in its development, the project folds in salons and discussions with women of varying ages, backgrounds and cultures; a lecture series and a visual installation tracing its evolution and the stories told. the stuporwoman project is commissioned by the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Bates Dance Festival and will premiere in Philadelphia at the Suzanne Roberts Theater Sept. 4-7, 2008.
Costume Intern will assist Costume Designer in the build, shopping and fitting of all costumes. During the performance, the intern will as act as wardrobe coordinator assisting in the dressing and changing of costumes and will also assume some light laundry duties as needed.
Marketing Intern will assist Managing Director with the preparation and distribution of press releases and promotional materials, liaise with sponsors, and perform general administrative duties related to promoting the show. This position will also assist with connecting salons and discussions with our audiences.
Tech. Production Intern will assist Technical Director with coordinating the technical needs for the show, some constructing of sets and sourcing of materials. This position will include experience in light and stage design.
Project/Production Management Intern will assist Managing Director with scheduling, travel arrangements, general administrative duties and general management of all activities and responsibilities leading up to the performance. This position includes experience organizing company InContext lecture series and assisting in management of other interns.
All Internships are unpaid. Each Intern will receive a letter of recommendation, 2 complimentary tickets to see the show and an open invitation to take company class.
