drum), and deep singing (cante).

Finally, introducing a new class!
Classical Spanish Dance, taught by Liliana Ruiz
Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm
Cost: $10 per class

About the class: Spanish dance can be defined as a complicated dance movement
that originates from the native country of Spain. Classical Spanish dance
includes sophisticated choreography on classical music performed or played by
renowned Spanish composers such as Albeniz, Manuel de Falla, Granados, and
Taurina among others. Spanish dance shoes or ballet shoes are used to maintain its
distinctiveness as well as the practice of the castanets, manton or fan
movements while dancing with the music.

About the instructor: Liliana Ruiz was born in Mexico City where she started
to study ballet when she was six years old. Shortly thereafter, she began her
study of Classical Spanish and flamenco dance. Liliana has many notable
dancing credits which include performances in the play Carmen with the opera singer
Placido Domingo at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, and in the USA with
two-time Grammy Award-winning pianist Peter Nero and the Philly POP'S at the
Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Visit www.lilianaruiz.com.
