An interactive theatre workshop introducing techniques for community building, Image Theatre and Forum Theatre, created by renowned Brazilian theatre director and activist Augusto Boal. Workshop facilitator Lisa Jo Epstein--who trained at the Parisian Center for the Theatre of the Oppressed-- has almost 20 years experience teaching and directing theatre as well as leading Theatre of the Oppressed workshops in many different communities.
Who Should Attend: Educators, social workers, community activists, facilitators and trainers, artists, active citizens interested in utilizing theatre-based language as a means to generate community dialogue, and making change. No prior theatre experience is necessary.
All skills are immediately applicable and widely transferable to many areas where open, honest communication is vital, from personal change to community development, from youth work, education, activism and interdisciplinary collaboration, to creative conflict resolution, cross-cultural dialogue and violence prevention, to leadership training and more.
