GLOBAL DANCE WORKSHOPS @ TEMPLE SUMMER 2008

Umfundalai Thursday to Saturday, June 4 to 7, 2008
Umfundalai is a Kiswahili word that means "essential." Created in 1970 by Dr. Kariamu Welsh, Umfundalai is Pan-African dance technique that draws from dance styles and movements from throughout the African Diaspora. The 2008 Umfundalai Intensive Workshop Series provides its participants with the tools to share quality African dance instruction with their respective communities. This year's experience offers master dance classes, lectures, and interactive workshops that culminates in the Umfundalai Streams Concerts, featuring works by various African dance artists and a special
performance by Kariamu & Company: Traditions.
