First, I'm quite excited about Wednesdays new format: "Ballroom by Request". I think this format is like nothing else out there, and is a win-win for everybody. Here's all the stats, nice and succinct for anyone who's missed it:
What: Ballroom By Request - Open Practice Time When: Wednesday nights, 8:00 - 11:00 pm Where: 119 Galey Street Media, PA 19063 Behind Pinocchio's Restaurant Directions: http://www.tango411.com/home.php?content=connect-directions Cost: $10
No partner necessary. Light snacks provided. -YOU REQUEST the dances -YOU REQUEST the music -YOU REQUEST tips from "Ballroom Joe" -Forgot your foxtrot? Want to brush up on your bolero? Need to re-learn your Latin movement? New to it all? Sit in and learn/watch/try it out for the first time while others brush up. Expert instructor "Ballroom Joe" will be available to coach you on your moves. Second, I've updated my Dance Links" page on my website. It contains my personal recommendations on places to dance in the area, cool videos you can download, dance networking websites, and even where to buy shoes. I will continue to update it weekly. www.artsyvideo.com/dancelinks.html
and Third, I'm starting a new Cha Cha class; a five week series, either on Friday evenings (times negotiable), or Wednesdays at 6:00. (5 lessons for $100 per person) Cha Cha is the most popular of the Latin dances worldwide, and also one of the dances most friendly to popular music. It can also be one of the most challenging, which is why I've decided to devote a whole class to it. In addition, everything you learn in Cha Cha will totally help you in your Rumba, Salsa, Mambo and Merengue. You will not only get the basic steps ingrained into your muscle memory, but will also develop a conscience to be able to hear a song, and know within a few measures whether you can Cha Cha to it. If interested, whether you are a couple or an individual, let me know. I have both couples and singles expressing interest.
