Audition: Willi Dorner's bodies in urban spaces
Call for Philly dancers! Come audition for Austrian choreographer Willi Dorner's bodies in urban spaces, which will make its U.S. premiere at the 2008 Live Arts Festival. bodies in urban spaces is a traveling performance in which dancers occupy and manipulate outdoor spaces throughout Philadelphia-your audience will include Festival goers and passersby of all kinds. bodies in urban spaces premiered in Paris in 2007, and has since rendered great critical acclaim in Vienna, Utrecht, and throughout the site-specific dance community. Twenty Philly-area advanced dancers/performers with backgrounds in partnering and/or contact improvisation will be cast. Willi hopes to cast a group of dancers who can move and improvise together as a corps. This is a perfect opportunity for dancers who are interested in performing in the Live Arts Festival and broadening their experience as site-based performers.
