For the Intermediate and the Advanced dancer: a special topic every week! Keep in touch with the newest moves from Egypt!! Did you ever wish that you had time to go back and learn things again?  Do you feel that there is something you are missing when you see Egyptian dancers?  The Egyptian intensive is not about choreography.  It is about stopping to rethink your technique in many areas.  Over the years methods of teaching and executing traditional movements have changed.  Revisit classic moves with an eye to current trends.  And also asks the question: Are you doing the outer shell of a movement with no internal energy?

Habiba is internationally recognized as a performer, choreographer, teacher and authority on dances of the Middle East.  She was a student of Ibrahim Farrah for many years.  On her numerous trips to Tunisia and Egypt, she studied with members of the Tunisian National Folklore Troupe, and many of Egypt’s top teachers including Raqia Hassan, Mahmoud Reda and Nadia Hamdi. For many years she has been an outreach lecturer for the Penn Museum of Archaeology on the subject of middle eastern dance.   Author of numerous articles on Middle Eastern Dance for national magazines, she is currently writing for The Chronicles of Belly Dance. She is a master of classical Egyptian dance and has a series of four instructional DVDs.

The American Academy of Middle Eastern Dance (AAMED) inducted her into the hall of Fame in 1997 and IAMED named her Ethnic Dancer of the Year 2001.  She was awarded the Jewel of the Orient Icon Award in 2014
