More info on the performance platform all the way below the info for the trajectory.

ABOUT THE FLUX TRAJECTORY

At the moment, there are hardly any opportunities for independent dance professionals to present their work in Rotterdam. Together with our partners SKVR and Maas, we want to provide facilities, coaching and a stage to the young and upcoming choreographers between us. Also, the platform aims to bridge between professional and highly skilled amateur dancers, and between choreographers and their audience.

That is why we are looking for choreographers who are willing to create a piece for semi-professional dancers.

Important to know is that we do not want any of the choreographers to compromise their artistic integrity to make your ideas ‘fit’ for non-professional dancers. Flexibility and a realistic concept are a must, though. Choreographers will be given the chance to work for five weeks during the weekends, with 2+3 hours per week. They will receive coaching on all levels (artistic, production, entrepreneurship etc.) and get paid for their contact hours with the dancers. After their creative process, they will present their creation during the FLUX Platform, which will take place on October 14th 2017 in the Kleine Zaal of the Rotterdamse Schouwburg. Are you already working with semi-professional dancers? They’re of course also very welcome to join the project! More information on how they can join will follow in a few days.

• Strong artistic vision
• Flexibility and interest to create your piece on highly-skilled amateur/semi-professional dancers

ABOUT THE FLUX OPEN STAGE

FLUX is a platform for all dance styles which aims to give space to young choreographers to present their work in Rotterdam. We also hope to bridge the gap between amateurs and professionals by organizing a program in which both work together. Besides this, FLUX will also give the opportunity to actively network and meet the audience, other artists, programmers etc.

When: October 14th, 2017
Where: Kleine Zaal of Rotterdamse Schouwburg, Rotterdam
Application deadline: June 30th, 2017
