Summer Dance Camps at CHI Movement Arts Center/Home of Kun-Yang Lin and Dancers

Dancing Folktales, for ages 3-5, & World Dance, for ages 6-12, will unleash your child's unique creativity through the medium of contemporary dance.  Using movement as a springboard for discovery, we inspire self-confidence and curiosity, transcending the repetition of a series of steps.  The camps will draw upon stories, diverse cultures and ideas.  Participants in camp will be given the first opportunity to be a part of the children’s company, to be launched in the Fall of 2010.

Dancing Folktales for ages 3-5, will run June 14th-18th from 9 am-11:30 am and features Folktales from around the world explored dynamically through dance!  $150 for the week (includes performance fee).
World Dance, for ages 6-12, will brings together master teachers of world forms, including African, Chinese Fan, Indian Bollywood, and Flamenco and will run August 23-27 from 9 am-Noon. $250 for the week (includes performance fee).

The camps will be lead by Children’s Company director Ellie Goudie-Averill, who has been teaching Contemporary and Creative Dance in a variety of programs for over ten years, has a Master’s Degree in Dance Performance from the University of Iowa and frequently shows her choreographic work in New York City & locally.
